About Me
During my journey through medical school it became clear to me that while there were life-saving (and mind-blowing) aspects of "conventional" medicine, there were many shortfalls as well.
It became a necessity to "fill in those gaps" and my passion was always to marry western conventional modern medicine with integrated healing philosophies. This led me to Functional Medicine, a middle ground where I can practice healing, bringing together the best of both worlds to understand you rbiology and investigate all the possible causes that may created dis-ease in your body.

I graduated from Stellenbosch University in 2009, and have worked in hospital settings across South Africa since then, with a lot of my focus and time spent in rural communities.
In 2019 I completed an Advanced Fellowship in Nutritional, Metabolic and Functional Medicine through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, and after many years of planning, finally founded Hanya House with my husband and partner in crime, Ryan James.

I live in White River with my husband and two children, and we love adventure, food and the great outdoors.
